POST LYMPH RECOMMENDATIONS
HYDRATE
Drinking sufficient water post lymphatic drainage massage (and everyday) is essential for supporting the lymphatic system. Drinking between 2L-3L per day encourages healthy lymphatic function and reduces water retention, which may seem counter intuitive but keeping the body hydrated helps to flush out the toxins that were released during lymphatic drainage.
REST
It’s likely that you will feel quite fatigued after a lymphatic drainage massage as the body will be working hard to process and start eliminating all of the toxins that have just been directed back into the circulatory system. It’s important to allow your body time to recover to receive the full benefits of lymphatic drainage.
EAT CLEAN
After a lymphatic drainage treatment, your body will be in detox mode, working hard to eliminate toxins and waste. By choosing clean, whole foods, you provide the necessary nutrients to support this natural detoxification process. Opt for fresh fruits, vegetables, and lean proteins to keep the momentum going. Avoid processed foods, alcohol, caffeine and foods high in sugar and salt as all of these foods make the body retain fluid.
GENTLE MOVEMENT
The lymphatic system relies on the contraction of muscles and movement to move lymph fluid through the lymph vessels and lymph nodes. This helps to flush out toxins, waste products, and excess fluids from the body's tissues, supporting the immune system and overall health. After lymphatic drainage massage gentle movement like walking and yoga will keep the lymph flowing. However, the body will be in recovery mode so avoid strenuous excercise.
